MINISTRIES
DEACON BOARD - "Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, who we may appoint over this business" (Acts. 6:3).
At Lighthouse, we have a very active and supportive Deacon Board. We administer daily to all the people's needs in and around this community, thereby allowing the word to go forth by the Ministers of the word. In addition, we conduct an annual Deacons' Revival allowing the brethren to teach and expound on the word if God.
Annually we look among the Deacons and identify one who is providing outstanding service to the people of God in his church community. We select that Deacon and recognize him with the Deacon of the Year Award.
SUNDAY SCHOOL - Our Sunday School classes are age appropriate and meet weekly to learn practical lessons from the Bible. We supplement the Bible with a study guides from the Pentecostal Publishers House, for the Adult, young adult, youth and primary student classes. We challenge the students through individual and group study dynamics to build meaningful relationships with other members in the Body of Christ. “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7
MISSIONARY - Our Missionary Department is a group that meets on a weekly basis and is designed to promote fellowship and increase knowledge. Our mission is to exemplify righteousness, serve, and meet the holistic woman’s needs. Learning enhancement is achieved through a series of topics that are provided in advance of the session to allow the Women to study and come prepared to engage in a detailed review with practical knowledge for application.
Each session provides accurate information regarding the following topics: Woman possessing Christ-like attributes, Parenting, balancing home & career, self- esteem, and woman’s health. This program is sure to motivate and enhance self-esteem; while providing a deeper knowledge of God’s purpose and perfect will for our lives. “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.” --Proverbs 31:10
BROTHERHOOD- Our Brotherhood Ministry meets twice monthly in an active and honest pursuit to connect the brothers to the service of God, His Word, and to each other for the purpose of winning, growing, and training God's men in Christ. We work on projects around the church and the community to help improve the quality of lives across our vast geography. The twice per month Bible studies are provided so that the Brethren can continue to participate in a structured study on a selected book from the Bible.
In a partnership with the local community development corporation, once per year we look among the brothers in and around the county and select a few to recognize at our Annual Men’s Day Celebration. This recognition is for both their contribution to the Kingdom Work as well as Community Service. The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” --Psalms 37:23
ACADEMY - The Academy received Statewide recognition from the Department of Children’s Affairs and the First Class Pre-K special grant for four-year-old child development program. This is was a first for faith based organizations.
YOUTH - Our Youth Department meets twice a month. With a focus on “Setting the Example & Leading the Way.” We strive to reach youth so that they may know Jesus Christ, and challenge them to grow in their faith and discover their gifts for ministry. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. “ --Proverbs 22:6 (CLICK HERE TO VISIT YOUTH PAGE)
CHOIR & MUSIC - Our Choir & Music ministry dedicated to setting the atmosphere for worship and developing a bond of fellowship between members, encouraging all non member (who have a gift to sing & play); to use it for the glory of god. As we spread the gospel of our lord Jesus Christ through song, "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise Ye the Lord." --Psalm 150:6
USHER - Our Usher Department meets once a month with a focus of welcoming people to our church, serving them while they are there, and being door keeper for the house of God.“ For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” --Psalm 84:10
